"Sweety Dahling" came to me as a result of spending an entire Sunday watching Absolutely Fabulous. For those of you unfamilar with the debauchery that is this show, shame on you. I was first introduced to this show at a young age by my British mother and have since consistently tried to base my life on the teachings of Eddie and Patsy. This blog, I hope will reflect these life lessons.

You see Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

I don't think I've ever been so happy it's Friday...well that's probably not entirely true, but for the purpose of this post (not that I really have a purpose) we'll go with that...

First off, even though I only worked 3 days this week...and I use the term "worked" loosely...it has felt like FOREVER...yesterday the clock seemed to be running in slow motion, probably because I kept staring at it, willing it to go faster, to no avail. The trek home in the snow wasn't all too bad, although it did take about 20 mins for the bus to go half a mile, so I got the hell off and took the train. I dropped my coat off at the dry cleaners near the el stop thinking that the bus that goes right passed my house would be along any moment...yeah right. Almost half and hour later my roommate and I were still standing there waiting, me in just my sweater (and of course pants) covered in snow and beginning to lose feeling in my toes and fingers...so we huffed it home in the snow drifts...fun :)

I love the snow, I want to go and play it in instead of being cooped up in here with the smell of cigarette smoke wafting down the hallway making me gag. This is because we are "entertaining" one of our clients whom our co-counsel tried to steal so we flew him up here to hob nob. Hence, they are letting him smoke in the building...so much for the Clean Air Act ...it's pretty much making me rage. However, he (the client) is a very nice elderly man who is sadly suffering pretty badly from Parkinson's so I am amiss to say anything.

I'm excited for tonight's birthday celebrations for our resident Doctor Drea...Thai food and BYOB should make for an entertaining evening. Mmmm a whole bottle of wine, just for me. Tomorrow's activities, presuming I am not deathly hungover, include a photo taking excursion around Chicago and buying some new duds for a Holiday Party I'm going to tomorrow night, at which I will know about 2 people (if that) and therefore will probably be consuming a vast quantity of alcohol.

However, note to self...do not get so drunk as to make an ass out of oneself...

I've got to think of things to do to make the last 2.5 hours of work bearable..even though there are an infinite amount of things to do on the internet, sometimes I just get bored with the whole thing...someone give me something fun to do....

Here's a camera phone picture from the upstairs window...how I wished I worked downtown...but then I'd probably just get pissed with the amount of people milling about undoubtedly getting in my way...the grass is always greener....

I work in downtown Washington, DC. There are lots of windows in most of the buildings. I, however, have the misfortune of having a basement office (and by "office," I mean "quarter of a room that used to be a broom closet").

And I'm definitely with you on the playing in the snow bit. Having to work when there's snow on the ground bites a big one.

hey you! there is nothing wrong with working in a cubical! i am quite content working in my 1.5 by 1 grey little area, that manages to fit a nice table, computer and phone and some leg room...well maybe it is a little bit bigger than that. anyways this has taken up some of my supposed calling people time. which i just love especially the lovely character today who told me to get stuffed and hung up, so being the bitch i am i rang back straight away to which he picked up the phone and asked me are you fucking deaf, fuckhead, im fucking busy, to which i laughed and called again...yes the joys of telemarketing....
